View services

The View services section displays the operational status of your published view services. You can activate and deactivate your services using the toggle button in the top left corner. After activation, manually start the publishing process with the «Publish Services» button in the top right corner.

The View service panel provides a list of published view services. You can directly access the capabilities documents for WMS 1.1.1 and 1.3.0. To copy any URL to the clipboard, click the icon to the right of the URL. Map view provides a simple web mapping client where you can preview your published view service.

The Metadata panel provides a list of published metadata. Click on “Metadata (Dataset)” or “Metadata (View Service)” to open it in a browser and view the XML data directly. Click on the icon to copy the service URL.

The test reports panel provides a list of PDFs which contain the results of a series of tests executed on published metadata and services. Click on the test report to open it in a browser and view the test results directly.

The number and type of tests executed on your metadata and services reflect your compliancy requirements.

Metadata tests are executed on dataset metadata and download and view service metadata. Tests check for ISO, GDI-DE and INSPIRE compliancy.

Tests executed on Metadata:

md_gdiMetadaten | Metadata: ISO and GDI-DEXXXnot executed for restricted services
md_inspireMetadaten | Metadata: INSPIREXXX

Service tests are executed on web mapping services (WMS), web feature services (WFS) and atom feeds. Tests check for ISO, GDI-DE and INSPIRE compliancy.

The Service settings panel provides a toggle switch to flip the coordinate axes of your data set. If your data set is displaying in flipped coordinates, toggle the switch to correct the display.

The Service log panel displays a transaction log which describes processes executed on your data set and any errors that may occur during publishing. The Service log is generated by the service publisher.

The Feature Explorer Tool

The Feature Explorer makes it easy to navigate the nested structure of complex GML and enables the exploration of complex GML attributes. GML attributes which contain links to related features, codelists, or attachment files are viewable via the tool.

To enable the tool, first activate GetFeatureInfo on your theme. * Go to «Themes» and select the theme you are working with * Select the «View services» section * Select «Activated» in the dropdown menu next to GetFeatureInfo

GetFeatureInfo is an optional operation which allows users of your view services to query your WMS layers. The GetFeatureInfo client is only available for WMS layers which have been configured to support the GetFeatureInfo operation.

The next step is to create a dataset and publish view services.

To access the Feature Explorer Tool, click on the Map view link in the dataset’s View services section: * Go to «Data» and select the data set you want to explore * Select the «View services» section * Click on Map view to open a demo WMS service * In the demo WMS service, click on a feature in the map display * Click on the «show Details» button in the HTML view of GetFeatureInfo client

The Feature Explorer opens in a new tab which displays the attributes associated with the selected feature. Click on any link to further explore the attributes and related features. Click the «+» button to the right of the attribute to expand the additional levels of attribute nesting.
